Haozheng (Tristan) Chen

PRESIDENT

Tristan is a junior majoring in Actuarial Science and Applied Statistics at University Park. He is from Wuxi, China, known for the sweetest food in China. He went to a Catholic high school in Indianapolis, Indiana for three years. Apart from ISC, he is also involved in a Chinese dance crew named ACEs.

Mahima Kania

VICE-PRESIDENT

Mahima is a Junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Information Sciences and Technology. She is from western part of India and absolutely loves spreading her culture through her cooking skills. In the past she has interned with Volvo Group and Comcast and aims to help international students pave their path towards success. Fun fact about her, she is proficient in 19 art medias and can talk about anyhting with anyone!

Xinru (Zoe) Yang

Secretary

Zoe is a sophomore majoring in Mechanical Engineering, and minoring in French. She grew up in China, and she was on her high school’s tennis team, She is a super tennis fan!

Junjia (James) Fan

Treasurer

James is currently in his senior year as a Finance and Mathematics major. He was born in Suzhou, China. He has the intention to become a financial engineer and move to California with his wife beyond graduation. He is a full-time “nerd” and a part-time music lover, cat owner, and foodie traveler.

Guneet Baweja

 Presidential Assistant

Guneet is a sophomore majoring in Computer Science with a minor in mathematics. She is from New Delhi, India. Apart from ISC, she is also the Treasurer for Sikh Students Association, THON chair for Association for India’s Development and a member of the Association of Women In Computing. She is a debater and also part of Penn State International Affairs and Debate Association.  A fun fact about her is that she starts dancing anywhere, when she hears bollywood music and she loves to eat spicy street food.

Jane Al Shami

Public Relations Committee Chair

Jane is a junior pursuing a career in Marketing and intending to minor in International Business. She grew up in Dubai, UAE and considers it home. Jane is very excited to take on the position as PR head this year. She enjoys rock climbing, volunteering and drinking bubble tea!

Jiaqi (Vickia) Lai

Programming Committee Chair

Vickia is a senior majoring in Actuarial Mathematics at University Park. Besides being the programming committee director for ISC, Vickia is also active in the Actuarial Science Club, and K-pop Music and Dance(KPMD). She goes to the gym 6 times a week and likes playing badminton. Also, loves BTS & Blackpink.

Elysia Liu

Liaison Committee Chair

Elysia is a senior majoring in mathematics with minors in economics and statistics. She is originally from Chengdu, a southwestern metropolis of China, the hometown of panda bears and the hub of spicy Szechuan food! Her other involvements include but not limited to serving as the assistant director of Penn State Actuarial Science Club and tutoring math at Penn State Learning. Outside of school, she loves to travel on her own, take photographs of unique moments and explore anything outside of her comfort zone. She is also a huge theater fan, so she is hoping one day she can devote more time to performing arts.

 

Maryam Abed

Web Director

Maryam is currently in her senior year as a Computer Science major with a Cyber Security minor. She is from Saudi Arabia, the land of oil. She is also part of the Saudi Arabian Student Association and the Sponsored Students Leadership Panel. She loves to travel a lot and explore around the world. On her free time, she plays the piano. Fun fact about her, she is a crazy cat lady, at some point in her life, she used to own 20 cats!

Maharsh Benday

Chief Editor of Internationals of Penn State

Maharsh is an international student from India, majoring in International Communication and minoring in English. His hobbies include reading a LOT of books, watching a LOT of TV shows and listening to a LOT of music. In his senior year, Maharsh looks forward to welcoming new international students to the US and Penn State and to be able to give them a community and a platform in a place where they will spend the next, best 4 years of their lives!
